Retro, but not excessively so. That's how we'd describe Bourne & Hollingsworth. To use a musical lexicon, we'd start from the relaxed notes of their furniture and plants, up to the peaks that speak of the re-found splendor of a historical building. We're in Clerkenwell, London, in a new brasserie-garden that joins a greenhouse, café, private rooms and a large bar that serves the specialty of the house: cocktails.
Created by entrepreneur Mark Holdstock, the venue offers a rich experience, from aperitifs to meals up to after-dinner drinks, with a schedule of entertainment for the evening and night based on music and dancing, as testified by the grandiose piano and welcoming bar.
The dècor by the team of Pizza East envelopes the 70 seating arrangements of the venue with lush and leafy greenery. Chic and refined to the point that each seat and table is different from the others.
The time has come to take a seat and wait. A late 19th century dandy and a grand dame from a bygone era will soon make their entrance, without standing out that much.
