Knitwear is the land Matilda Norbergo is exploring. And the world, or rather, the earth's crust, with its movements, tensions and the dialogues between various materials that compose it, is the inspiration for her final collection at Royal College of Art called "Earth's Crust / Material Rules".
The focus of Matilda Norberg's 2 years at RCA has been on experimenting with innovative knitting techniques. Indeed, the structure of her knit suggests new forms, silhouettes and innovative garment making methods, such as layering and fusing knitted fabrics with other materials.
To make this collection the designer collaborated with Industria Italiana Filati and Accademia - I Grandi Filati Italiani. And, above all, she won the Loro Piana Best Knitwear Collection Award 2015. A new bright satellite has begun orbiting around the world of knitwear, and we should keep an eye on it.
