Katya Silchenko loves fashion with a cause. Her label The Coat takes political stances and presents collections in protest of the militarization of Ukraine, her country of origin. In her latest line for Fall-Winter 2016 what takes center stage is indeed the coat: vibrant, with resolute blocks of color. The collection is inspired by Sonia Delaunay, a French artist who was popular in the glamorous Paris of the 20s. Everything, from zigzags to polka dots, sharp geometries and chromatic palettes, is drawn from the artist's paintings.
Among the fur, woolen skirts, and feather decorations, cheerfulness reigns supreme.
