Linn Fritz is a Swedish designer and animation artist now based in London. Her works are deliberately surreal and dreamy, telling the story of female characters facing their own insecurity.
With a minimalist and colorful style that seems fit for a graphic novel, she distorts proportions so her girls are never “perfect”, but represent real people that we might meet in everyday life. Her “Anxiety” series reflects on the condition that so many people suffer from today, with illustrations where her protagonists feel trapped in oppressing cages and nets, juggling their fear of losing control and their longing for balance. To escape this vicious cycle, Fritz visually suggests taking large doses of irony and imitating the light elegance of tightrope walkers.
