It's got it all: a precious material, able craftsmen, talented designers and a company with farsighted goals. The result is “Marmo Domestico”, the first collaboration between the laboratories specialized in the workmanship of Carrara marble, designer duo Thevoz-Choquet (CH) and young company Bloc Studios.
The idea is simple: to recycle the waste products of marble produced by the ton by BLC Carrara, the company of the family of Sara Cima, entrepreneur with Massimo Ciuffi of Bloc, who in the past years has collected broken slabs and marble slurry, the parts of this material that cannot be used to decorate luxury interiors.
Marble is not just exclusivity. Ii holds in itself historic values and technical notions handed down throughout the years by craftsmen rooted in the territory. A heritage to be administered with pride. Through the collaboration with Virgil Thevoz and Josephine Choquet the material is reinterpreted in a contemporary key, minimalist and geometric.
A tribute to the material itself brought to its ultimate and noble essence, majestic, robust and timeless. What results is a series of products that are accessible to many pockets and at home in any domestic space.
