Creating unexpected experiences is one of the goals of Sabine Marcelin, a Dutch artist who grew up in New Zealand and is now based in Rotterdam. For Sabine design becomes the privileged medium through which to create an incessant dialogue between object and user, with an aesthetic language that takes its cue from the function of materials.
Among her recent projects is luminous installation "Dawn Light" hosted by museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Shades of color lie on sculptural elements in resin that draw inspiration from the strength of natural elements.
