Once an architecture student, at one point Sandy Liang felt her passion for fashion grow too strong to resist. That same passion spurred her to create her own collection soon after graduating from New York’s Parsons School.
She claims her career started almost as a game, after interning for established brands like Phillip Lim. She decided to try to make it on her own with what she had learned from the masters, and engaged her family to help her produce her first collection. Liang’s style is inspired by her origins and by her beloved grandmother’s elegance. Her 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection pairs clean lines and pastel hues with the texture of materials like denim and fur. Her unexpected outfits mix bras over shirts and ruche-rich slits on miniskirts with asymmetric raw hems.
