Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Danielle Orchard studied painting at Indiana University and later moved to Florence, Italy to perfect her skills. She now lives and works in New York, where she opened her studio in Brooklyn.
Her artistic style straddles abstraction and color. The subjects she paints are almost always female figures, often motherly, complex and moving. Orchard’s women are a balance of tenderness and passion, innocence and sensuality, desire and indifference. Her paintings are rich of saturated colors, as intense as her heroines – perfect for our times because they are able to love and can represent tens, hundreds, thousands of unique and special women in one.
